Kieran Bush is an Indigenous man, born and bred in Darwin, Northern Territory, with family heritage linked to the Roper River region, specifically Ngukurr. He has extensive consumer and community engagement expertise and skills working in culturally safe ways with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. He is currently a First Nations Project Coordinator at Menzies School of Health Research and leads a consumer reference group focused on diabetes and cardiovascular health. Further, he brings lived experience of chronic disease management, including both diabetes and cardiovascular diseas. Collectively, my professional and health-focused work reflects a strong track record in sector leadership, culturally safe service delivery, and community-centred program coordination. These efforts have resulted in tangible improvements in health systems, service accessibility, and wellbeing outcomes for First Nations and marginalised communities in the Northern Territory. In his current role at Menzies, he provides mentorship to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and is building capacity in health research.
