In the NT, the seasons shape the infections we see, and these patterns are changing. Melioidosis in the Wet. Respiratory infections in the Dry. Skin infections in the Build‑Up.

To understand why these patterns are shifting, researchers need the ability to analyse infections quickly and locally.  

The MiSeq i100 Plus will allow Menzies to:

• analyse infections in real time
• track how strains evolve
• strengthen public health surveillance
• support melioidosis, Strep A, malaria, and respiratory research
• train the next generation of NT scientists

This is a Territory‑wide asset that will be shared with Charles Darwin University (CDU), NT clinicians, and First Nations genomics trainees.
