Biography:
Dr Elena Tjandra is a qualitative researcher working on the Communicate Study Partnership, a multi-level initiative that aims to improve First Nations peoples’ experiences of heathcare. She holds a PhD in Human Geography where she explored local peoples’ lived experiences of mining in Oaxaca, Mexico. Elena is interested in community-led, anthropological and STSS approaches to understanding health and environmental justice challenges.
Elena is a Honorary Fellow at School of Geography, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Melbourne.
