Biography:
Dr. Edith Waugh is a senior specialist anaesthetist and Clinical Lead for Perioperative Medicine and Research at Royal Darwin Hospital. A dedicated health equity advocate, she focuses on improving surgical outcomes for First Nations Australians and remote communities in the Northern Territory. Currently pursuing a mixed-methods PhD, she integrates medical sciences, humanities, and First Nations health research principles to address perioperative disparities. As a Churchill Fellow she explores culturally safe models of care, working with First Nations communities to co-design sustainable solutions.
