Biography:
Kahsu is a Research Fellow at the Remote Health Systems and Climate Change Centre, Menzies School of Health Research. Prior to this role, he served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Research Unit of Population Health, University of Oulu in Finland, and as a Project Manager at the University of Agder in Norway. Before pursuing his PhD, he held multiple academic and administrative positions at Mekelle University in Ethiopia, including Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Head of Department, and Member of the Research Ethics Committee. He has supervised seven MSc students and many undergraduate students.
He has extensive experience in designing and conducting mixed methods research. His PhD focused on investigating the determinants of exclusive breastfeeding among employed women in Ethiopia using a mixed methods approach. His research interests primarily lie in maternal and child health, primary health care, and chronic non-communicable diseases.
