Biography:

Jacqui is a cardiac sonographer with clinical experience in echocardiography and specialises in echocardiographic screening for rheumatic heart disease. She has held appointments as an expert sonographer in the Northern Territory of Australia (2020-present), Tonga (2010-present), South Africa (2017), Timor Leste (2018) and South Australia (2015-2017) where she performed echocardiographic screening in high-risk populations.

Jacqui is an experienced echocardiography teacher, supervisor and mentor. Her role within the NEARER SCAN project involves training and supervision of community health workers to screen for RHD. 

Jacqui is a contributing author of the Australian guideline for the prevention, diagnosis and management of acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease. She is a course advisor for a new certificate course in RHD screening to be offered by the Australasian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine and has developed the online modules aimed at training non-experts to screen for RHD.
