There is particular focus on improving outcomes through prevention and early intervention. Current projects in 2019, include a descriptive study to understand the high levels of notification for child protection services for adolescent children, and understanding the characteristics of children in child protection and youth justice population that is associated with higher risk of self-harm. Both of these studies will utilise the Child and Youth Development Research Partnership (CYDRP) data repository. A new project, commencing in late 2019, will review the overlap of children in contact with child protection and youth justice services.
