Housing is a human right and a major contributing factor to human health and wellbeing. Despite significant recent investment, there continues to be an undersupply of social and remote housing in the Northern Territory, with existing housing facing a range of habitability challenges.
Our work investigates what is required to improve and sustain the condition of urban social housing and housing at town camps, remote communities, and homelands, as well as the essential service infrastructures required for functional housing. We work with Aboriginal community controlled organisations, governments, and householders to promote governance and policy reforms that increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander control of housing, where desired.
