Prior to retirement, Mr. Peter Plummer spent forty years working in the public service in Papua New Guinea (16 years) and the Northern Territory (25 years).
Mr. Plummer was founding Principal of Batchelor College and subsequently Deputy Secretary of Primary Industries and Fisheries then Industries and Development. Then followed appointments as Chief Executive Officer of Mines and Energy, Health and Community Services, and finally Education.
Mr. Plummer has also served on many boards and committees including Chair of Cullen Bay Management Committee, Menzies School of Health Research, National Curriculum Corporation, Charles Darwin University Council, and Charles Darwin University Strategic Positioning Project. He has also had significant experience with the government and private sectors of Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, along with ‘minerals and energy sectors’ of the United States and France.
