Biography:
Bernard started at Menzies as a Research Assistant during his candidature for a PhD in Sociology from Macquarie University. Since then, he has been involved in numerous studies and consultations regarding suicide and suicide prevention.
Bernard’s research interests revolve around investigating the intersections between the developmental antecedents, social determinants and cultural contexts of suicide, especially amongst the Indigenous population. He is also interested in the design, development and evaluation of suicide prevention strategies in the areas of policy, non-clinical interventions and primary healthcare services.
