The Graduate Certificate of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control offers an introduction to core concepts and skills in infectious disease prevention and control. This includes epidemiology, statistical research methods and quantitative analysis of health data.

During the course you will explore key public health principles and practices aimed at preventing illness and protecting health in the community.

Program Structure
The Graduate Certificate of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control is a 16 week full-time course delivered completely online. The core units cover a selection of essential knowledge and skills in epidemiology and biostatistics. On completion, you can articulate to the Graduate Diploma or Master of Health Research, or the Graduate Diploma or Master of Public Health (and get 4 units of credit from the Graduate Certificate toward your next course).

HE Relief Support Package
Charles Darwin University is offering this Graduate Certificate as part of the suite of university short courses subsidised by the Commonwealth Government. The indicative discounted fee for this course is AUD $2,500. The discounted fees only apply to new student course enrolments in 2020. To be eligible you must study full time and complete all 4 units by December 2020. 

Menzies School of Health Research Reimbursement Scheme

Menzies Education will financially support students enrolled in the Graduate Certificate of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control by reimbursing the $2,500 course fee upon successful completion of the course

Eligibility criteria

  • Must be enrolled in the Graduate Certificate of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control and commence in Semester 2 2020
  • Must be enrolled full time, online in 40 credit points
  • Must successfully complete the course by the end of Semester 2 2020
  • Must pay for the course fee of $2500 upfront (cannot defer to HECS-HELP)
  • Must pay for all associated course resourcing fees (i.e. textbooks, software fees)

Students are not required to apply for this scheme.

Eligible students will receive an email notification from Menzies Education if they meet the eligibility criteria above after Semester 2 2020 grade release.
