Weathering Well is an innovative digital mental health and wellbeing tool developed through a collaboration between Western Queensland PHN and Menzies.

The app is designed for Australian farming communities, in particular farmers, growers and graziers, experiencing adversity from drought and other climatic events.

The Weathering Well app was adapted from the Stay Strong app and uses strength-based motivational interviewing techniques to deliver a structured ‘low-intensity’ mental health, wellbeing, and alcohol and drug intervention.

Facilitators trained in the use of the app then guide participants through a conversation about their support people, strengths and concerns and support them to set goals that improve their own wellbeing.

Menzies School of Health Research offers online training modules and support to providers wishing to use the Weathering Well app. If you are interested in accessing the online training, or would like more information about the Weathering Well app, please email us.

The app is intended for use by health community and social service organisations, funders and researchers.

The app is now available on tablet and smart phone devices from the Apple Store and Google Play.
