The Communicate Study Partnership are hosting the third First Nations Health Communication Symposium. The theme of the symposium is: Preparing for our future.

This event brings together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders, health professionals, researchers and community advocates to explore innovative strategies for improving health communication with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

  • Intercultural Communication Workshop
    • Time | 9:30am - 12:30pm 
    • This is an in-person only event.
    • Explore concepts and processes that support intercultural communication and facilitate the co-construction of shared understandings.

  • Working with Aboriginal Interpreters and Aboriginal Liaison Officers 
    • Time | 1pm - 4pm (this includes a 90 minute workshop and afternoon tea to meet and greet the Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospital based Communicating for Safety Officers and Aboriginal Liaison Officers).
    • This is an in-person only event.
    • Thanks to the Northern Territory Aboriginal Interpreter Service (NT AIS) for sponsoring this workshop which covers a range of topics on communicating in the Northern Territory and working with interpreters.
