2018 Menzies Oration | Friday, 26 October from 5pm in the Menzies Auditorium at our Royal Darwin Hospital Campus.

We were truly privileged to have The Hon. Justice Margaret White and Mr Mick Gooda present this year’s oration.

Both have long and distinguished careers and have contributed immensely to the community.

Justice White is a former judge of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the first woman to be appointed to the court. In 2013, she was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia for her service to the judiciary and law.

Mr Gooda is the former Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner for the Australian Human Rights Commission. Immediately prior to taking up this position, he was the Chief Executive Officer of the CRC for Aboriginal Health. Mr Gooda is a proud descendent of the Gangulu people of Central Queensland and actively promotes the concept of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people being intimately involved in decisions that affect them.
