The Women’s and Children’s Specialist Knowledge Hub has been tasked to contribute to achieving the Millennium Development Goals 4 & 5 of reducing childhood mortality by two thirds, and reducing maternal mortality by three quarters and aiming for universal access to reproductive health care. The Hub will do this through adding value to existing knowledge and practice and providing strategic direction to AusAID to set the parameters for action.

This project will identify strategies to address the following challenges:

  1. the introduction of known effective interventions
  2. scaling up the implementation of effective interventions
  3. achieving equity in intervention and coverage
  4. integrating maternal and child health and sexual and reproductive health care services.
