The Tropical and Emerging Infectious Diseases Division investigates specific illnesses of priority and monitors emerging infectious diseases in Indigenous people and others living in tropical and remote environments.

The Division will focus on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of current and emerging diseases. Epidemiology, clinical observations and basic laboratory work are interlinked in our multi-disciplinary approach to seeking a better understanding of the underlying disease processes and the complex influences of our unique and changing environment.
