MSHR's research and education - staff are drawn from a wide range of disciplines, including epidemiology, biostatistics, sociology, anthropology, physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, nutrition and clinical medicine and multidisciplinary research is a feature of much of our activity.

The corporate services include people with financial management, human resource management, research administration and information technology skills.

Indigenous people are encouraged to contribute to all aspects of the organisation including as community based research staff. The Indigenous Staff Forum was established as a mechanism to focus this contribution.
