Web Site Ethos

The Vision for the MSHR Website

  • Menzies School of Health Research is Australia’s only research institution with a focus on Indigenous, tropical and remote health issues, and at the outset, it was important that the new Menzies’ website reflects our unique position in the research community.
  • In line with our development of a new strategic plan in 2002, we wanted an innovative, interactive framework to communicate with researchers, research participants, policy makers, service providers, students and the general community.
  • As part of our commitment to building close communication with Indigenous and remote communities, it was also important that this site be a tool for researchers to provide individual feedback to research participants and to keep communities informed about the progress of research projects.
  • Thanks to the support from the Northern Territory Government and CSC, we believe our new website is reflective of this vision.

Specific Objectives of the MSHR website:

  1. To raise the profile of MSHR and enhance understanding of MSHR’s priorities and objectives
  2. To provide an overview of MSHR’s outputs and activities
  3. To improve access to MSHR’s research and education programs
  4. To enhance research outcomes by improving collaboration with research partners and feedback to research participants.
  5. To disseminate research results to health service providers and policy makers.
  6. To further promote MSHR’s reputation & to attract researchers, students, funding & sponsorship opportunities.
  7. To provide an access point for other sources of information about health issues affecting Indigenous & remote communities.
