- To design a dietary intake methodology and accompanying training method and build the capacity of community-based Indigenous people to collect dietary intake data
- To improve the health of people in remote Indigenous communities.
Ten community members will be invited to collaborate in the development of the dietary intake methodology and training method, together with a group of experts in dietary intake methodology.
This pilot project will also provide insights on the acceptability and feasibility of using a dietary intake tool for Indigenous people in a remote community setting.
This will empower Indigenous people to better understand nutrition and nutritional content of foods.
This project commenced in December 2012. It is due for completion in September 2013.
