Aims:
- To determine the best pneumococcal conjugate vaccine schedule for Indigenous children and others at high risk of invasive and mucosal respiratory infection throughout the first three years of life
- To compare type-specific immune correlates of protection, bacterial carriage and clinical outcomes at 18 and 36 months of age following randomisation to different combinations of primary and booster vaccines.
Objectives:
- To determine whether a mixed schedule of PHiD-CV10 and PCV13 can be used to provide broader immune protection against carriage and infection due to all vaccine components in the second and third years of life.
- To determine whether PHiD-CV10 is immunogenic and effective in reducing NTHi carriage in Indigenous children at high risk of NTHi ear and chest infection.
