The Centre for Research Excellence (CRE) in Respiratory Health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children

The Centre for Research Excellence (CRE) in Respiratory Health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children is dedicated to improving the respiratory health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children. Funded by the NHMRC, the CRE in Respiratory Health has partner institutions including the Menzies School of Health Research in Darwin, the Centre for Child Health Research in Brisbane, Queensland University of Technology, University of Queensland and Griffith University. 

The CRE currently has the following opportunity available: 

Postgraduate scholarships
Applications for postgraduate scholarships in 2017 for projects related to the work of the CRE are now open. 
Successful applicants will be supervised by a Chief Investigator of the CRE and will be based at one of the CRE’s partner institutions. Funding may be used as a full stipend, or as top up funding to an existing scholarship. Here are the scholarship guidelines and conditions and application formAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers are encouraged to apply.

  • CRE Cochrane Scholarship 2017
    Applications are currently open for the CRE-Cochrane Airways Schol
    arship for 2017.
    A scholarship of up to $2,000 will be offered to a student in health sciences (undergraduate or postgraduate) to study evidence-based medicine in lung conditions that are prevalent and important to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders or Maori children. This scholarship is designed to support activities of the Cochrane Collaboration, which provides systematic up-to-date summaries of reliable evidence on risks and benefits of healthcare.
