Menzies Open Day | Menzies School of Health Research

Menzies Open Day

Menzies Open Day kick started National Science week and offered students from year 10 -12 the opportunity to see leading research in tropical and Indigenous health and consider future options for their own careers.

Students gained knowledge on a range of research being conducted at Menzies which includes research in the Territory, across Australia and around the world particularly in the Asia Pacific region. There was presentations and workshops on snake bites, melioidosis and malaria, tobacco control, sexual health and healthy living.

Menzies employs doctors, nurses, scientists and other professionals who are all working within the field of science to improve ill-health facing many Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. The Open Day offered students the opportunity to see some of our research and consider future options for their own careers.
