Ochre – Supporting Indigenous Health through Art, began in 2008 as a fundraising art auction raising money towards research into Indigenous child health at Menzies.
The auction raised over $250,000 which helped to fund several ground-breaking research projects, which are currently underway.
Ochre has evolved into more than just an art auction. Ochre is now an opportunity for lovers of Indigenous art to make a difference to the lives of Indigenous kids by helping to raise much needed funds through events and other fundraising initiatives.
A further Ochre fundraising event was held on 22 November 2009 in Mornington, Victoria. The lunch was hosted by Mrs Helen Liberman and once again raised funds for Menzies' research.
Over $40,000 was raised at the lunch and every cent of the money raised will go towards the formation of an Indigenous health research scholarship at Menzies. For more information about the event please click here.
