Doctor of Health

The Doctor of Health program will be discontinued from 2012.  There will be one final intake of students to commence in Semester 1 2011 but there will be no further intake after that.  All students in the system after the program ends will continue to work their way through to the end of their studies.

The Doctor of Health is offered as an alternative to a PhD and provides an advanced professional doctorate degree through a combination of coursework and research.It is designed to build on knowledge and skills already gained through professional experience and studies by practitioners and leaders in the public health and human services workforce and will provide training with a focus on the unique geographic and sociopolitical conditions in the NT and northern regions.This course provides an opportunity for experienced middle and senior managers or clinicians to extend their training and will prepare students to take up senior roles in public health or a health-related human service area.  It is offered through distance education and compulsory attendance at a residential is required each semester for the coursework units.
